Pure Foundation Fund Terms and Conditions

To be nominated, individuals must be registered as a healthcare professional in the UK, specifically working in the field of maternity, neonatology or postnatal care. Individuals must also work in a privately or publicly-funded healthcare service in the UK to apply.

Healthcare professionals and parents / expectant parents can nominate an individual specifically involved in neonatal, postnatal and maternity care. Healthcare professionals can also nominate themselves. All nominations from a healthcare professional should outline how the individual has gone above and beyond to provide an exceptional level of maternity, neonatal or postnatal care and how they have contributed to improved medical practice and/or improved outcomes for babies and their families. Healthcare professionals nominating themselves can only nominate themselves once. Healthcare professionals and parents/expectant parents nominating others, can nominate more than one healthcare professional.

Healthcare professionals and parents / expectant parents can nominate an individual specifically involved in neonatal and maternity care. Healthcare professionals can also nominate themselves. All nominations from a healthcare professional should outline how the individual has gone above and beyond to provide an exceptional level of maternity or neonatal care and how they have contributed to improved medical practice and/or improved outcomes for babies and their families.

Healthcare professionals nominating themselves can only nominate themselves once. Healthcare professionals and parents/expectant parents nominating others, can nominate more than one healthcare professional.



The Bursary Fund

There will be two winners for the UK One nominated by a healthcare professional and one nominated by a parent / expectant parent.

Each winning healthcare professional will be awarded a prize value of £2,500 for their department / unit to continue to improve the care of parents and babies. Payment will be made via bank transfer to the department / unit that the winner was associated with at the time of the submission. This could be used towards the purchase of equipment, to fund training, improve practice or support further research relating to pregnancy and / or newborn, neonatal or postnatal care. The winning healthcare professional will be asked to confirm with WaterWipes how the bursary fund is intended to be spent. If the winners withdraw from practice, or transfer to another unit, university or hospital, the prize fund will be non-transferable and will remain within the original winner’s department.

The prize for the parent / expectant parent who provided the winning nomination
The parent / expectant who provided the nomination of the chosen winner will receive a six-month supply of WaterWipes. This six-month supply will only be valid to those currently a resident in the UK. The nominee of the winner will receive their supply of WaterWipes within 3 months of the winner being contacted.



What information do we collect from you?

This privacy notice relates to the information we collect for the Pure Foundation Fund bursary scheme. To enable WaterWipes to consider your submission, we require the following information to be included as part of the entry.

As part of the submission and nomination process, your personal data will be held with WaterWipesUC to ensure we are able to keep applicants informed. Unless you provide consent on the entry form for your name to be used in social media / marketing activities , we will only use the personal data provided as part of the application process and we will only use your name and information provided as part of the internal review process and to notify the winner who submitted the nomination.

Upon entering please provide the following details:

  • Your name, address, contact number and email address
  • Your job title if you are a healthcare professional
  • The name, job title and professional organisation / hospital or unit, of the healthcare professional you are nominating
  • Healthcare professional nomination (healthcare professional nominating a healthcare professional and a healthcare professional self-nomination):
    • Mandatory: As part of a 400-800-word statement, please summarise how you / the individual contributed to improved medical practice and/or outcomes for babies and their families. Please also provide information on how you / the healthcare professional has gone above and beyond to provide an exceptional level of neonatal, maternity or postnatal care. Please begin your entry with ‘These are the hands…’ to represent the hands that touch the lives of expectant and new parents, both physically and emotionally and tell the inspiring stories of the lives they have touched. 
    • Optional: If known, the statement should also specify what the prize fund would be used for, should you / they be chosen as the winner
  • Consumer nomination (parent / expectant parent nominating a healthcare professional):
    • Mandatory: Up to 800-word statement outlining how the healthcare professional has gone above and beyond to provide an exceptional level of care for you and / or your baby. Nominations should note how they were specifically involved in your pregnancy, birth or post-natal experience


Who do we share your information with?

A panel of judges will review your entry, which includes your personal information and the details of your nominee. If you provide consent on the entry form, your name will be included within social media/marketing and communications activities.

Any personal details relating to your nomination and your nominee will not be used by WaterWipes or any other organisations affiliated with the initiative without their prior consent. The chosen winners will be contacted by WaterWipes and given the opportunity to withdraw from the initiative. They will also be asked if they wish to take part in WaterWipes marketing and communication activities, but this is not mandatory.

WaterWipes may select a few examples of stories from the nominations to use on the WaterWipes website and within marketing and communication activities. No personal details will be included, which includes names of any individuals (both the nominee and person nominating) and names of the professional organisations. Individuals will not be able to be identified from the stories shared.



Judging the bursary fund and notifying the winner

A panel of WaterWipes representatives and a representative(s) from [INSERT ORGANISATION] will review the entries and select two winners from the UK.

The adjudicators at WaterWipes will be looking for inspiring or, moving stories of healthcare professionals involved in the pregnancy / and or birth journey who went above and beyond to provide exceptional care. For healthcare professional nominations / self-nominations, the judges will also be looking for examples of individuals who have contributed to advancements in maternity, neonatal or postnatal care, for example through a research project, a new initiative, use of new technology or a new patient experience etc.

  • All nominations should be submitted by 30th November 2020
  • The winners will be selected by 11th December 2020
  • The person who submitted the nomination will be notified via the email provided
  • The winner will be notified by either email or written correspondence through their professional organization / or via email for self-nominations by 16th December 2020
  • The selected winner will be able to withdraw from the scheme
  • If the selected winner chooses to withdraw, the judges will select another winner

The selected winner will be asked if they wish to consent to being named within WaterWipes marketing and communications activities upon being made aware of them winning the bursary fund.  This is not mandatory and will not have any impact on them winning the bursary fund.


How long do we keep your information?

We may retain your information for as long as is necessary considering the purposes which are set out in our Privacy Policy, subject to any legal obligations to further retain such information.
