R&D initiatives in this company are co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund and Enterprise Ireland under the Border, Midland and Western Regional Operational Programme 2014-2020.

This RD&I project was set up in Mar 2017 to improve packaging performance of WaterWipes. The project ran from Mar 2017 to end Dec 2019 and required a huge amount of cross functional teamwork within WaterWipes and our strategic raw materials and equipment suppliers. It involved significant research, several onsite trials, trials at equipment manufacturer premises, cooperation between raw material and equipment suppliers, visits to customers and warehousing partners together with lab analysis internally and externally of raw materials and finished goods.

Aims: To improve the packaging performance of WaterWipes through the development of packaging solutions to better meet our consumers needs and improve robustness of packaging to protect our product throughout the supply chain.

Results: Sales growth over the period of the project was phenomenal, whilst packaging issues and complaint costs significantly reduced.

New: improved flow wrap was developed and is now used in 100% of our products, new resealable label type, size and adhesives were developed. New primary packaging technology was designed specifically for our application.
